2.3.40pre6 on P2 UP: Massive FS corruption on ext2

2.3.40, egcs-20000117, binutils-2.9.5.0.24, i686 UP. New corruption when
compiling a kernel (many duplicate blocks, inodes with wrong number of
blocks, files turn directories, ...)
