My PR440FX (Intel dual PPRO motherboard) still refuses to boot with 2.3.41pre1.
It hasn't booted a 2.3 kernel since about 2.3.20.

I get a solid lockup with no messages after

  PIIX3: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 39
  PIIX3: device not capable of full native PCI mode
  PIIX3: device disabled (BIOS)
