[Ayuda] apt

que tal lista veran al trater de hacer alguna
operacion con el apt-get o el dpkg me manda este
error:


E: Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (2
No such file or directory)
E: The package lists or status file could not be
parsed or opened.

y de ahi no sale :(

ya revise que pues me falta el archivo status y pues
es impresindible, alguna sugerencia ?

tengo Debian Sarge con un kernel 2.4.25-1
